I am impressed by the following gesture by American Airlines. I didn’t expect to be treated to this, and I think that is the reason I liked it so much. My delay was weather related and yes, it made my arrival home much later than I had hoped. This is the first time I have had this happen and think it is very respectful.

are to you and we will continue our efforts to keep flight delays to a minimum.
We realize that your travel plans were disrupted by the delay and we’d like to make
amends by extending an AAdvantage® mileage bonus. We’ve deposited 4,000 miles into
your account……
