I really hope this happens. It would be great for city transportation as a whole. My only personal complaint about Chicago public transit is difficulty from western side of downtown (personally Wicker Park/Ukrainian Village) to neighborhoods north of downtown (Lincoln Park/Wrigleyville/Lakeview) and vice versa. Right now you have to go downtown and then change direction, or take two buses. This could change all that.
