BP wants Twitter to shut down a fake BP account that is mocking the oil company. In response, Twitter wants BP to shut down the oil leak that’s ruining the ocean.

JIMMY FALLON, Late Night (via the New York Times and everybody’s Tumblr)

How clueless could BP’s (real) PR people be? This was obviously going to backfire. When your company spills oil, shut the fuck up until you fix it. And then probably keep shutting the fuck for a little while after that too.

Who would really want this job for more than one term? …But I have to run now, otherwise it’ll mean letting someone like Mitt Romney step in and get credit for the good stuff that happens after we’ve been through all this crap.

President Obama in November, 2009, as reported by Jonathan Alter in his new book “The Promise.”

I just finished Born to Run by Christopher McDougall.  It was the most entrenched I have been in a book in years and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys or would like to enjoy running.
One of my favorite pieces of the book was about an athlete I had never heard of named Emil Zatopek who competed in the 1952 Olympics.  During those Olympics in Helsinki, the Czech runner won the 5K, 10K, and marathon, breaking Olympic records for all three events.
The catch is that he had never run a marathon. His plan was simple, to run alongside world record holder Jim Peters from Great Britain.  At the 15K mark, Zatopek asked Peters how the pace was thus far.  Peters was shocked and told him “too slow.”  At that, Zatopek took off winning the race…Peters didn’t finish.  Guts at its finest.

Great story about the ability of Mayweather to make everyone have an opinion.  Also some cool info about pay-per-view largest fights
